May 3, 201214 yr Running 4.7 I need to upgrade my 9 disk array to a 15 disk array. So far, I've not had any problems with the current setup. What's the best way to do this? My plan: 1. Build a new server chassis with my spare unRAID flash boot drive with latest 5.0-rc 2. Move existing 9 drives to the new chassis 3. Boot up, assign the 9 drives in the disk order they are configured via UI Are there any issues with this?
May 3, 201214 yr I would probably move the existing flash to the new chassis with 4.7 before you upgrade to Rc1. Run a parity check with no correct to make sure all of your cabling is good and cooling is sufficient. Then you could upgrade to a V5 flavor with the existing flash or the spare flash. up to you. The other option is to upgrade to V5 before you swap chassis. it is easier to migrate a V5 array to a new home
