go to plugin click check for updates
and update all before going to tools update os.

the update errored as it attempted to call bash to run commands to check and failed at the hook script to check plugins and make sure they are compatibility

This is also sings of dns issues if you can't check and update double check unriad network settings and make sure plugin are update before upgrading the OS.

Also double check any extra third party application if installed and if installed the Tmux Terminal Manager (TTM) plugin is not replacing your terminal bash for another terminal...

so I have a weird unraid os upgrade step to amke sure data is the same and saved between udpates..

Step 1 stop all dockers.

-Check for docker updates update all

--appdata backup run to make a falsh backup and backup data...

Step 2 settings docker no to turn off docker.

Repeast step 1 and 2 for for VMS / LXC SO:

Step 3 shutdown any and all VMs

Step 4 settings VM Manger off to turn off VMs

Step 5 generic udpates checks go to plugins check for updates.

--User script disable any and all user scripts...

Step 6 reboot to claar out unraid any uptime stuff in memory while dockers and vms are off.

This should take you to a unraid only instance dependign on the array start settings...
Then I usualy stop the array and go to tool update OS

with teh FCP plugin installed I usualy run update assistnat to verify and check before hand.
image.thumb.png.47ff9a7245a64f516ef8c3c86240ae69.png

then go to tools update OS.

All I can say is try again. otherwise this may be early signs of flash drive failure.
IN whcih you want to make a backup of the curent running OS/ flash drive

in whcih case you can make a new 7.1.2 flash drive manual and copy/ move the confg folder form the backup and replace all on the flash drive...

https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/download_list/

as I there is something preventing you from moving forwarded.
example enhanced log view plugin is now dead. there are some issues with open files plugin that need removed and search eda repository to install the updated openfiles...
as some plugin are dead and can be broken at this point...

as the check is failing at plugins...

I would recomend runing thorugh the step 1-6 where unraid is at a array only running state form a fress reboot (even stop the array) and go to tolls update to make sure there isn't anything running that would cause a bad check/failure...

please see release notes and anouncments..

Thanks for this suggestion. So I tried to start this process, I shut down my VM and then tried to disable VMs in VM Manager, when I click turn off VMs, it won't do it, it just refreshes and stays on.

this is after a clean reboot?

the advance setting way then...
all these web servcies do is edit a confi file on teh unraid USB...

Lets edit the boot drive config...
and reboot unraid..

Unriad using legacy code names the config we want to edit is callded domains.

in unraid you can cd into the flash drive the flash drive is located at /boot

Go to your flash drive

root@Docker:~# cd /boot/config

root@Docker:/boot/config# ls

Basic.key docker.cfg fastusr go.save modprobe.d/ passwd pools/ share.cfg ssh/ udev/

default/ domain.cfg flash.cfg go~ network-extra.cfg plugins/ random-seed shares/ ssl/ wireguard/

disk.cfg drift forcesync hosts network.cfg plugins-error/ secrets.tdb smb.conf super.dat

disk.old editor.cfg go ident.cfg parity-checks.log plugins-removed/ shadow smbpasswd super.old

and nano the domain.cfg

Note the config setings...

example of mine as I don't run VMs on unraid

cat example of the falsh drive config read at boot

root@Docker:/boot/config# cat domain.cfg

SERVICE="disable"

IMAGE_FILE="/mnt/cache/system/libvirt.img"

IMAGE_SIZE="20"

DEBUG="no"

DOMAINDIR="/mnt/cache/system/VMs/"

MEDIADIR="/mnt/user/system/VMs/iso/"

VIRTIOISO="/mnt/user/Cloud/iso/virtio-win-0.1.266-1.iso"

BRNAME="br0"

VMSTORAGEMODE="auto"

HOSTSHUTDOWN="shutdown"

TIMEOUT="30"

CONSOLE="both"

DISABLE="no"

RDPOPT="yes"

USAGE="Y"

USAGETIMER="10"

root@Docker:/boot/config#

here you will need to use nano and change

SERVICE="disable"

and reboot to turn off VMs at a fresh unraid reboot...

since the web ui eventual makes a write to the flash drive and your drive is showing sings onf inabilty to write. this may be early signs of the USB die-ing...

It is recommend to make a flash backup and replace that USB...

as all of unraid is stored in the config folder...

Go to main > click flash >
MAKE A BACKUP!!!

USB Flash Drives

and review the manual method

https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/getting-started/manual-install-method/

and download the lattest version: 7.1.2
https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/download_list/

Format the flash drive extract the v7.1.2 on the flash drive.

fat32...

run make it bootable to add the syslinux/efi

and copy your config folder from the backup on to the new formatted flash drive to replace any conflicts...

This will put you on a new flash drive with the latest Unraid OS and keep all of your previous unraid settings...

I would highly recommend replacing the flash drive sooner than latter given the issues...

then go thought he key license change, which is easy with the flash backup as it a record and acknowledge the old flash drive guid is blacklisted for your key.
