No connection to LAN after MB/CPU upgrade.

Featured Replies

I just upgraded to a Gigabyte X870E AORUS PRO and I can boot to GUI and everything is detected, but I am unable to connect to my router. I've tried both static and DHCP, and a router reset, but it's always unreachable. My previous MB was a Asus Z10PE-d8 which had 2 NIC's and my new MB has a single RTL8125 2.5GbE Controller.

My guess is there is some old config file that's messing with the ethernet controller, on my old MB i was only able to use one to the two NIC's not sure if that hints to something.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Diags are not downloading, but mostly likely the NIC is not supported, it should be if you install the RTL8126 driver, you can do that by booting the flash drive on a PC with a supported NIC, or use a Wi-Fi dongle.

That did the trick, I installed an old Intel dual NIC I had laying around to get online and installed the RTL8125 driver (not RTL8126).

Works perfect now!

Thank you.
