June 6, 20251 yr I'm trying to use a Fujitsu D3307-A12 HBA (IT Mode, LSI 3008-based) with my Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme (rev 1.1) motherboard, BIOS version F39g. Unraid version: 7.1.2. The HBA is confirmed working: it was tested in a different system (Asus X870E mainboard), where it booted and appeared in both BIOS and OS without issues. In the X570 Aorus Xtreme system (running Unraid), the HBA is not detected:It does not appear in BIOSNo splash screen during POSTNo entry in lspciStatus LED on the card stays offI've tested the HBA in all three PCIe x16 slots, without success. All slots are verified working with other devices (e.g. GPUs).BIOS Settings I've tried:CSM: EnabledAbove 4G Decoding: EnabledPCIe Slot Configuration: Forced to Gen3 for all relevant slotsFast Boot: DisabledSecure Boot: DisabledSATA/NVMe: Confirmed working independentlyPCIe ASPM Mode: Tried both Enabled and DisabledBifurcation: Left on Auto (no RAID/NVMe splitting)IOMMU: Tried both Enabled and DisabledNote: other PCIe cards (GPUs, NICs, etc.) all work in these slots without issue. I've also tested with minimal configuration (only CPU, RAM, PSU, GPU, HBA). PSU is known good. No other PCIe cards installed during the test.Interestingly, when the same HBA is installed in an Asus X870E system running Windows, it boots normally, shows the LSI BIOS splash screen, and is correctly detected by the OS.Is there a known incompatibility with this HBA and the X570 Aorus Xtreme? Are there additional BIOS settings I might be missing to enable compatibility? Thanks in advance.Unraid version: 7.1.2
June 7, 20251 yr Community Expert this may be a pcie slot bifucation issue. is the 2nd nvme slot or sata 5/6 port enabled as it may be pullitn the pcie lanes form the hba thus not geting the full hab port connections.
July 6, 20251 yr I've got the same board, also the same revision. Before I write further, did you resolve this issue? I'm running an LSI, so happy to give you some more info. Slightly older post, so didn't want to waste time if you've fixed it.
July 6, 20251 yr Author Hi,I did NOT manage to get the LSI working yet, any help would still be greatly appreciated :) Let me know if I can help you further with information on my end. Also interested to find out in which slot you have your LSI.o/
July 6, 20251 yr Hi Gnix,Basically, I have this setup below. I think your problem is likely your BIOS version. The BIOS upgrades are mainly to resolve security flaws, but its possible that F39 broke your IOMMU.Can you post the IOMMU settings?Aorus Extreme X570 v1.1Bios: F36D PCIe Slotsx16 - Graphics Card RTX 3090X8 - EmptyX4 - LSI sits in this slot.m2 slotsAll three slots are used.LSI - I can't remember exactly the model, but it was ordered with IT mode already set. I'll look it up when I get a chance.BIOS settingsSee the beginning of this post I did on RTX 3090 passthrough, the beginning will tell you the settings that I did in the BIOS. The only difference I've just made this week, was to change to UEFI boot mode. But, my bifurcation is set to auto as well. So, I doubt its a bifurcation issue causing the problem.
July 6, 20251 yr Author Checked your bios settings in your post, compared to mine I dont think I can see any differences although I am having a hard time finding some of the options in the actual BIOS.I have IOMMU on Enabled, but are there additional settings for it, or is that all?
