Internet drops on Unraid after upgrade to 7.1.3?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I’ve been running Unraid for quite a while now without major issues, but recently I started noticing internet connectivity problems that seem to have started after upgrading to version 7.1.3.

At first everything looks fine, after booting, all services are accessible, the Apps tab works, I can ping google.com, etc. But after some time (sometimes overnight), Unraid completely loses internet access. Anything that relies on external connectivity just stops working.

On the hardware side, everything is wired up with Cat6 cables, going through a Unifi USW switch, which is connected to a Unifi Dream Router. From the Unifi controller I can see the connection is technically "up" between devices, but there’s no traffic( 0kbps up/down) which lines up with the behavior I see in Unraid.

I haven’t made any recent changes to the network or Unraid configuration apart from the upgrade itself, so I’m wondering if something in 7.1.3 might be causing this.

I’m attaching diagnostics from after the issue occurred.

Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Thanks in advance.

There are some users having a similar issue, if you are affected, recommend downgrading back to 7.1.2 for now.

Alright, thank you so much. :)

Any other developments on this issue? It is affecting me too in the exact same way. I haven’t downgraded yet as containers and VMs still have functionality.

I saw the same thing... This system has run Unraid for YEARS and the 7.1.3 update had me very confused... Internal connectivity suffered as well... VM's that I thought had been running perfectly started being slow and stuttery... I Decided to build a new VM (Assuming the problem was the VM) and could not upload a new OS install image to my ISO share... Then I found this post, reverted to 7.1.2 and things are running great again.

I just upgraded from 6.12.13 to 7.1.3. I noticed the external internet connection not long later when I tried to lookup a new docker in CA and they wouldn't load. I downgraded back to 6.12.13, then upgraded to 7.1.2. The internet issue is still present. Everyhting works for about 5 minutes then drops. Is there a more stable version of 7 I should use? Or should I stay on 6.12.13 until 7.1.4 is released?

Try 7.1.4-rc.1, feedback has been all positive so far regarding the connectivity issues:

Unraid OS Version 7.1.4-rc.1 available - Prereleases

Thanks. I was a bit nervous to try an rc release, but it is working perfectly after being upgraded about 8 hours ago. No network issues and everything else is working as expected.
