CWWK is committed to developing a reliable, secure, and customizable firewall or VPN appliance for network professionals and enthusiasts.

Sata 1-8 are on q670 chipset

9-12 use JMB585 chip

I just placed the order direct from CWWK to save a few bucks. So I guess it will be a couple weeks before it arrives. This will be a backup and test server. I haven't found much info about this board yet. I have seen it on eBay and on Amazon under the StoneStorm brand. I haven't found much on Bios or Manual yet. I've been reading up on the 8*sata white MB.

I still need to select a 10gbe ethernet card for this new server and my main Unraid server.

CWWK Q670 12-Bay NAS M-ATX Motherboard(LGA1700, 12th/13th/14th Gen. Desktop Processor), 4* U-DIMM DDR5 MAX 128GB, 2* M.2 NVMe, 12* SATA 3.0, 1* Type-C 20Gbps, 6* USB, DP/HDMI/VGA/eDP, COM PortQ670 M-ATX+3x SFF8643

r/unRAID - Trying my luck with new 12 sata CWWK MB. (Q670 M-ATX+3x SFF8643)

Parts I already have:

CWWK MB replacing: Z97 MB with I7-4700t and 32gb DDR3 ram running Windows 10.

I5-13600t with Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler

Sparkle A310 Eco (Emby transcoding or maybe for security cameras)

64gb DDR5 (2x32gb)

Antec 900 case with 3*Rosewill 4-bay hot swap cages

10 various drives 4-14TB size (72tb in windows pool)

2* 1tb NVME ssd

750 Watt power supply

I got this one few weeks ago. Works as intended with a few downsides:

  • I cannot find in the the huge BIOS where to disable the LAN's (i use like you an 10 Gbe network cards and not the ones on the board)

  • no option to disable the iGPU (on intel 13500) - i use an intel A380 for my plex

  • no option for Resize-BAR (not sure if is on or off by default)

Maybe there are the options in that huge BIOS and I'm blind :)

Also not so negative but annoying - all the system fans are controlled together as one :/ by one option in the BIOS

Otherwise the board works very well - 10xHDD and 2x SSD, 96 GB RAM , intel 13500, intel Arc A380, 10 GBe network card OF

just checked:

Resize-BAR seems to be on (by default) :

Capabilities: [420 v1] Physical Resizable BAR

BAR 2: current size: 8GB, supported: 256MB 512MB 1GB 2GB 4GB 8GB

Capabilities: [400 v1] Latency Tolerance Reporting

the ASPM seems to be off for the GPU:
LnkCap: Port #0, Speed 2.5GT/s, Width x1, ASPM L0s L1, Exit Latency L0s <64ns, L1 <1us

ClockPM- Surprise- LLActRep- BwNot- ASPMOptComp+

LnkCtl: ASPM Disabled; RCB 64 bytes, Disabled- CommClk-

Very interesting. Could you provide the powerdraw of the system?

Somewhere 90-100W when idle 130-140 bursts on 2-3 transcoding's on the same time

MB: the one in the upper post

CPU: intel 13500
RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 96GB (2x48GB) - at 4800MT/s (no XMP - no option anyway on BIOS)

Network: Mellanox MNPA19 10GB/s

HHD: 10x16 TB Seagate Exos enterprise (ZFS) - always on
NVME: 2 x (4 and 2 TB)

PSU: Corsair 750W

Probably can be much (at least -15W IMHO) lower if MB supports ASPM on A380 - or if i give up HEVC transcoding, take the A380 out and stick with intel QSV

Later edit:

Just got curious and took off A380 - now idle power draw got to 70 -80W

Thank you. I assume the HDDs are NOT spun down, right? Otherwise that would be a massive idle powerdraw tbh.

Never ZFS: 2 vdevs Z1

My motherboard was delivered last night from CWWK and I'm running some memory test right now. It does appear my T-Create 64gb ram only runs at 4800MT/s

I received a manual from the Amazon seller Stonestorm. It includes basic info.

Thanks for the additional information. Did you orders your board direct from CWWK?

Yes I ordered directly from CWWK.

I hope (not with great expectations because they are Chinese) to patch the bios and let us disable/enable LAN's and iGPU. For the rest I'm satisfied how the board works.

Hey, curious about this board or more specifically the ITX version of it (https://cwwk.net/products/q670-8bay-nas-mini-itx-motherboard-upgrade-version-lga1700-supports-intel-12-14-generation-processors-8sata-4m-2-ddr5-dual-slots-5x-usb3-2-8-sata3-0-ports-i226lm-2-5g-with-vpro ) are your power measurements done with or without powertop? If with, what c-state do you get to?

(talking about this if you are not aware: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/98070-reduce-power-consumption-with-powertop/ )

I'm starting to migrate from Windows 10 to Unraid. The MB has been quirky with W10 with some sleep/hibernation issues. Sometimes the board doesn't want to wake up even though the hard drive activity lights are on. I was testing an old Marvell 4xSata card that didn't like W10 but has no problem under Unraid. I'm also looking into testing current I5-13500T vs I5-14600K with lower PL1 and PL2 settings to mimic something between the "T" series and "standard" series.

Things I don't like:

  1. doesn't appear to be any Bios updates? (link from CWWK is broken)

  2. PWM Fan control applies to all fans; no individual controllers.

  3. The WIFI A+E key slot seems to only work with WIFI cards and not Sata or Ethernet adapters.

  4. Bios can be confusing and no XMP or other memory settings. It appears 4 sticks of 32gb runs very slow (listed on website) compared to 2 sticks.

  5. Marvell 10GB ethernet card randomly disappears under windows; not sure how it will behave with unraid.

Hey! How did the Unraid migration end up going? Do you have any information related to c states?
