HTML5 Web Based Video Player in easy UnMenu Package for Library

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

I was thinking of an idea, and I know most of us use Unraid as a media server, it is the best out there, but of course we store other things.  The idea for the package I had was something very close to what Air Video Server package in unmenu, but instead of needing an app on the other side, basically be able to watch your media via HTML5 on any web browser on any laptop, tablet, phone etc.

Think the following:

Server is configurable with the port of your choosing (you can then forward port on your router)

Server has either a password or a user/password

Server can be configured as to what folders are available and under what tags (like in Air Video)

The server would be accessed through a web browser (think UnraidWeb) and there you can see your root categories configured above, click for example Movies, Shows etc, narrow down what you want to watch and it would be displayed via html5 in some video player.

Obviously I think the important thing is for it to be similar to Air Video in that it decompresses and plays any video file out there, mkv, avi, mp4 and so on, so that you can seamlessly wwatch whatever is in your library.  Any GUI enhancements would be a definite plus, but I think a password protected web-based player would be an AMAZING Solution!
