June 21, 20251 yr Morning/Afternoon Team,My Unraid server started performing an unclean shutdown about a week ago and I can't figure out why. The timing seems random but the longest the server has stayed up is about 25 hours. Sometimes the parity check doesn't even finish before the server restarts again. What have I done,I've unplugged the UPS USB cable just in case it was doing something weirdI've replaced the RAM with known good RAM. I used this RAM about 6 months ago and it was in the system for 3 months with no issuesUninstalled any plugins I'm no longer usingStopped/Disabled auto start on any dockers that are nice to have leaving only the ones I really need running.Attached is my diagnostic file and my syslog file. In the syslog you can see the system goes offline at 0302 and I didn't notice till 0827 when I woke up (its Sunday here :) )Unraid version is 7.1.4Hardware is a QNAP TS-1655Thank you for any help in advance Edited July 3, 20251 yr by pete748
June 22, 20251 yr Community Expert Server restarting by itself is almost always a hardware issue, or some issue with the power.
June 22, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution I would try a memtst first (Min 12 hours) as it is free to perform. (Remember memory tests are conclusive only if they find a bad memory)Next thing I would do is to swap out the power supply. PS's have been the culprit in several cases similiar to this one. (Sometimes this can a free test if you can obtain a spare one (Yours or a friend) or using a thirty-day vendor return window.)
June 22, 20251 yr Community Expert One more free thing to do. OPen up the case. Clean out all dust and dirt. Check that all fans are running.
June 22, 20251 yr Author Hey Team,I'll try a memtst tonight, aghh if it's the PSU I'm going to have to return the whole unit as it is a QNAP TS-1655.I'll post here once I have the details.Thank you

It is highly unlikely that your problem has the same cause. And it is very difficult for GURUs to keep two problems separated when responding.
