cache pool not enough space! pls Help!

Featured Replies

I have unraid 7.01 with 2 disks array, and 1 disk pool device. the problem is not enough space when I tried copy 160G documents from windows to pool device named datapool, but actually the disk has 12.7TB free space and 3.28TB used with btrfs system.Partition format:GPT: 4KiB-aligned

what I have done is:

1. set minimum free space of every folders on datapool to 10GB.

  1. run balance already.

still not working. Pls help me how to fix it

What is the share name you are copying to?

  • Author

my pool device : datapool

share folder name: /mnt/datapool/data

what i want to copy: a folder with many files, approximately 160G

from: windows to Nas

when I tried copy anyway ignoring the alert message, when it copy until about last 10%, alert message will show again, and can't copy anthing more. used metadata UDP wil jump to 3.9G, so I guess it might related to the metadata space. but I dont know why total metadata UDP is only 4G, and how to expand it.

Don't see a reason for the error, try copying the files until it fails, then post new diags immediately after.

You have both disk share and user share enabled, that's not recommended because it's prone to user error, but I don't see what would cause the stated issue either.

i dont have disk share now. before i tried it.

I have 2 apps on docker which set download folders on datapool, one is qbittorrent which is on, another is FileBrowser-PNP which is stopped. I dont find any setting may relate to the problem.

I have copied two folders (30G and 40G+)to the same directory(/datapool/data), it worked.

but at the almost end of copying process, the speed goes down to 100+kb

and here is the btrfs filesystem usage info:

I cant understand, why Device allocated: 3.08TiB, meanwhile keep Device unallocated: 11.47TiB. it seemed only use the "data single" space.

There's nothing logged, there are some strange characters on that photo, could be an issue with the source files.

This is normal with btrfs, it will allocate more space as needed.
