Homeassistant and Tailscale Reverse Proxy

Featured Replies

Hi all,
Homeassistant is up and running but I would like to enable SSL Support via the Tailscale Network. I've followed the video below which seems simple and straight forward and so I have used the Tailscale Addon as well as the Visual Studio Addon (for editing the configuration.yml like in the video) but starting tailscale in HA always leads to the following error:

[15:39:30] ERROR: Unable to connect to Home Assistant as reverse proxy

[15:39:30] ERROR: Please check your configuration based on the add-on's documentation under "Option: proxy"

I know, that I have to add this into the configuration.yml but it hasn't worked if I do it in the video via the Visual Studio Addon:

http:

  use_x_forwarded_for: true

  trusted_proxies:

    - 127.0.0.1

So I've got two questions:

  1. where is my configuration.yml so that I can edit it

  2. What is the IP of the trusted proxy? Is it the tailscale machine IP of my HA container?

I'm not sure, if this is a Docker issue, a HA Inabox issuel or a tailscale problem, so any hint is appreciated.

Is anybody able to help?

Thanks in advance
