SMB Extras Causing Log to fill with errors

Featured Replies

I have some SMB extras added for a root share per Space Invander's instructions however while troubleshooting something else I noticed that I keep getting this in my logs over and over again

make_connection_snum: canonicalize_connect_path failed for service

Related to the rootshare I have configured. Anybody know what this means or how to fix it?

Here is my config:
[rootshare]

path = /mnt/user

comment =

browseable = no

# Secure

public = no

valid users = XXX

writable = yes

vfs objects =

I don't really recommend using a root share, I've seen multiple issues with that, but if you really want to, I recommend removing those entries and using the UD plugin option, it's still a hack, but less of one.

Interesting I hadn't used that feature before of UD.

I tried enabling it but I seem to be missing most of the shares/pools. I also can't seem to rename the share to rootshare (so I don't have to change things too much with my current setup/links/shortcuts on windows). There aren't many settings so I'm at a loss as to why it's not working. My SMB extras config is blank at the moment so there shouldn't be any conflicts.

I've never used it, so I can't really help, but it should work, recommend making a post on the UD plugin support thread.
