Question about UnRaid's Self-Signed Certificate

Featured Replies

I watched some videos on setting up the UnRaid certificate provision. Two questions have since popped up.

1) I notice I can still login to UnRaid via the normal less secure HTTP. I assume by that you cannot require https login?

2) I have NextCloud running in a Docker on Unraid. It has the unsecure http address in the browser window. I assumed with the provision turned on, it would also apply to the dockers connections via the browser. That too is a wrong assumption?

Ideally I believe I would like everything to go through the HTTPS connection.

From what I understand , Containers DO NOT use the Unraid certificate at all , totally separate things .

HTTP continues to work regardless of a certificate being configured or not . I have no need for one since being at home 💽

  1. For the webgui to use HTTPS you need to go to Settings > Management Access and set SSL to YES or STRICT (I suggest not using strict)

  2. For everything to use HTTPS you're better off setting up a Reverse Proxy (SWAG or NPM) in my opinion than manually installing SSL certs in every container.

Set SSL to YES (Settings/Management Access )- and http will get redirected. I've also changed my port to accommodate a reverse proxy.
