Issues getting network connection

Featured Replies

Hi all,

A few days ago my server was acting up (RAM usage was really high, probably a misconfiguration somewhere - I'll find it after I get the server working again) - so I restarted it, and it promptly didn't start back up.

I just finally got a monitor hooked up, and I appeared to have this issue: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/129741-boot-failure-bzfirmware-checksum-error/

I tried hitting ENTER once to restart, and it seemed to get farther into booting, but it didn't manage to assign itself an IP. For good measure, I tried following the recommendations on that forum topic. I replaced my boot USB with the 7.0.1 version files (that was the version I was on), and restored my config folder from a recent backup.

Upon trying to boot again, I'm still having issues getting an IP. It's not setting a 169 IP or anything, it just says IPv4 address: not set; IPv6 address: not set.

My diagnostics are attached :)

Very strange - the link should definitely be up.

I get the activity LED on my switch as Unraid is posting, but then it goes away part way through the boot process.

I tried a different cable as well, but that has the same behaviour.

I had an extra NIC lying around so I gave that a try - it works normally with this NIC, so it seems my onboard NIC has failed for some reason...

I do notice that all of my plugins appear to have disappeared. They all appear under Plugin File Install Errors...

It looks like I may in fact need to replace that USB drive too, I immediately got the error:

Disk Location: sda Alert - Device failure alert

/dev/sg0: Unknown USB bridge [0x0951:0x1666 (0x001)]
