Smart Mover - Tv Series

Featured Replies

I haven't tried doing any plugin development at this time for unraid but I am a developer so maybe I could tackle this. I am mostly just looking for insights from others on feasibility/interest.
I use plex, and for the most part my array is spun down unless something is being watched on plex that's older. Anything new stays on cache, but when watching a series that's been on there for a while its been moved to the array. I'm thinking a plugin should be able to detect shows being watched in plex or similar by file reads and move the next X number of episodes onto the cache so it doesn't have to spin up the array to watch it. This would keep the array off, and improve the time to play as well.
Is this feasible in unraid?

Oh, I didn't realize that they are from the same dev, both might be necessary depending on the use case.

Both of those are kind along the lines and I’ve looked into both. The one will move stuff your watching but neither seem to move the entire season unless I’m missing something. Essentially I’d want to be able to set my tv directory and when a shows being watched I’d want it to automatically move the next X episodes into cache for 30 days or something like that
