Try booting is safe mode; possibly an issue with the Connect plugin.

Will do, anyway to automate that headlessly? Can I just move the gui safemode to the first location in syslinux.conf?

EDIT

Looks like just moving "menu default" from unraid OS to Unraid OS safe mode should work.

Once I can boot up in safe mode, should I just delete the connect plugin? I don't really use it as I use my own certs and reverse proxy with vpn. the backup flash is nice though.

If it works in safe mode, try uninstalling the plugin, possibly you are not using the latest plugin version, or it doesn't work correctly with such an old Unraid release.
