duel dgpu issue

Featured Replies

In my system I’m using an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (which doesn’t include an iGPU) alongside two discrete GPUs: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 in PCIe slot 1 and an Intel Arc A750 in PCIe slot 2. The 3060 has been dedicated to running Unraid and Plex for some time. I recently added the A750 to replace my previous passthrough GPU for a VM. Since installing the Arc A750, however, Unraid is now defaulting to it as the host’s primary display adapter instead of the 3060. I’m not sure why this change occurred or where to start troubleshooting.

Update: i have tried switching my GPUs but unraid is still grabbing my intel GPU for use as the unraid video card.

Update 2: i have fixed the issue. it was 1 of 2 things, either it was that i didn't have REBAR on or i had to swap the GPUs start then stop unraid then swap them back. after i did all that unraid started using the rtx 3060 again. hope this helps someone.

Glad you worked it out yourself.

This happens when you don't set your BIOS at the initial stage of your VM setup.

Few things to as a reminder when setting up your VM, here are what you need to look for in BIOS, depending on what type of motherboard you have:

  • Above 4G Decoding - Enabled

  • Resizable BAR - Enabled

  • IOMMU - Enabled

  • Intel VT-D/ AMD-Vi - Enabled

  • SVM(AMD) - Enabled

  • ACS (ACS Override or PCIe ACS) - Enabled

  • VT-x - Enabled

Some of these will not appear in your BIOS, and some will, chances are they are already enabled, just hiding.
