Server unresponsive around the same time every morning. HTOP shows lots of dockerd entries.

Featured Replies

Issues started a few days ago.

Every morning when I wake up, the server is completely unresponsive aside from being able to login in via command line and being able to run HTOP.

But even then, half the time even the command line is locked up.

The only two things that pop into my mind are:

1) My Appdata Backup/Restore plugins runs around 5am and takes about an hour or a little more. It's not running when I wake up though.

2) Imported a ton of shows into Plex and I do have it configured to detect credits, intros, etc. However it doesn't lock up until the morning and pretty sure all those detections have already been finished.

Just randomly thinking what it could be.

Here's a screenshot and my diagnostic.

If I scroll over, it says log-level=fatal.

Thanks for any advice!

I'd start with whatever is dropping all of this in your log - ps -auxf may be able to give you a clue if you don't already have an idea

OK, here's what ps -auxf shows.

I should say, those interface log messages have been around for well over a year and this issue has only started a few days ago.

One of those things I keep meaning to troubleshoot but kind of no idea how. I figured they were harming anything though.

Looks like both Plex and Jellyfin are running at the same time, and you have a frigate instance going too? Might be a scheduled task in one of them - how many containers are you running? Might do with disabling some, and any plugins until you track down either the culprit or whatever is spamming your log (or both).

  • Author

Yeah I thought it could possibly be all the intro/credit detection for several hundred episodes of shows so I disabled Jellyfin.

It shouldn't have been running in that diagnostic but possible I ran that after rebooting.

Yes Frigate as well.

And I know things can change but I've been running this setup for over a year (honestly probably 2+) with no issues.

Even did the same thing (imported shows with hundreds of episodes. All the while Frigate, JF, and Plex running.

I have like... at least 50 containers running ha.

CPU averages around 60% and RAM about 32GB (half).

I was hoping something in the diagnostic would flat out say what's happening.

But yeah looks like I'll have to do process of elimination.

Thanks for trying to help. :>

@Michael_P

Actually didn't take as long as I thought to try and narrow it down.

I remembered Unraid Connect locked my machine up a few times before and sure enough, after removing it, my machine is running like butter again.

I hope they get this Unraid Connect thing fixed, I use it almost everyday.

This is what it usually looks like, even with 50+ containers going...

Nice, and you should still track down whatever is spamming your log

I'll try!
(I have no idea what to look for in that one list you had me print ha)

By the way, update: server is fine this morning so 99% sure it was Unraid Connect (once again) so I'll mark this as solved.

Thanks again. :>
