July 17, 2025Jul 17 I have an array of 8 disks, ranging from 8TB to 20TB. I need to add more space, but that 8TB guy is long in the tooth, and I want to retire it. Is the general procedure just to yank the disk then put the new pre-cleared one in the same array 'slot' and let it rebuild? Is there an alternate method around emptying the outgoing disk? I think I am overthinking this, I just have yet to "use" the parity for anything, though it is checked and good.
