Unraid keeps breaking down "Docker Service failed to start" / "Retry unmounting disk share" loop

Featured Replies

Hello,

I started getting this issue where trying to access GUI webpage sometimes docker decides to die saying "Docker Service failed to start". Once that happens I try to restart the server but then it gets stuck in a loop of "Retry unmounting disk share" until entire GUI dies and even SSH dies. So I have no option to cleanly restart/shut down the array and have to always force shut down. If I don't access server GUI or docker elements menu server can run for long time but every time I access those I risk of it breaking and takign down entire unraid with it.
It's been happening for a while since 6.12. Hoped that new OS versions will fix this. GUI breaking used to be a thing but that got fixed I think. Now docker is breaking which wasn't an issue before.
Can someone help me solve this for good?

When it happens again, get new diags before rebooting.

An update for this issue.

I installed FolderView2 plugin and so far unraid been running for 3 months without issues. I couldn't run this long, it would fail after weeks or a month.
Long story - Before I used FolderView plugin then uninstalled it as it was abandoned by developer and I wanted to upgrade to OS to 7, besides that I didn't find much use for it so didn't need it.Since I uninstalled it thought it would be removed and won't cause any issues however it seems it wasn't fully uninstalled. I read about something left over from old plugin as people were moving on to FolderView2 by another dev who picked it up to continue support so figured what if and followed this hunch thus installed the new version just in case it was this plugin issue. I am not 100% sure but issue stopped and I haven't done any other changes to the system. I am not using the plugin it at all just keeping to potentially solve docker/OS crashes.

I would like to delete this plugin completely but not sure how. So far I haven't tried to uninstall the FolderView2 as I was just waiting for another crash so I can capture diagnostics. I also want to uninstall properly now but besides clicking uninstall in unraid dashboard plugin section I don't really know how. The whole testing takes extremely long time as instability occurs after 1-4 weeks. Reinstalling entire OS with all the dockers and customization would be a lot of work so hoping there is a way to somehow remove this one plugin. Perhaps I can manually go and look through for any left over files after uninstall of plugin? I don't have good knowledge of where plugin files are located or integrated so some guidance would help.
