SMB Shares not showing since adding a new NIC

Featured Replies

I've recently migrated my unraid drives to new hardware - an HP Z820 to be exact.

This has two onboard ethernet ports. I decided to add a 3rd as I also have two Q509 NAS which have two ports each: 1 connected to the LAN, the other direct to the Z820.

Shares between the Q509's and the Z820 are working fine, but the unraid shares are no longer visible on the LAN.

For reference:

eth0 - new single NIC connected to LAN

eth1 & 2 - Q509's

The SMB config is as follows:

Enabled: Yes

Hide "dot" files: No

Enable SMB Multichannel: Yes

enhancedMac: No

NETBIOS: yes

WSD: Yes

I have the following in my SMB Extra Config

[global]

server multi channel support = yes

bind interfaces only = yes

interfaces = eth0 eth1 eth2 // I've tried br0 instead of eth0

min protocol = SMB2

max protocol = SMB3

I'm guessing the server multi channel support = yesin the extras shouldn't really be there.

The server can see the LAN and access the internet.

While were at it. I only want internet traffic going in/out over eth0, not via the NAS (eth1 & 2)

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA,

Roy

I can't help with this issue but I would like to suggest that you post up the diagnostics file in a new post in this thread as it contains much more info about the network configuration.

I have said for years that SMB appears to be controlled by witchcraft and magic. Ifd it is not showing up here:

Then read here:

(Right now, I am missing my second Unraid server-- on 24x7 --until I went to it and opened a share.)

The server was appearing, but not the shares!

I think the witchcraft includes reading these forums, because without change, they all started to appear again!

Cheers,

Roy
