Server crash/freezing issues

Featured Replies

Server was working fine for months.
I update the OS, a week goes by now all of a sudden i get random freezes or crashes, Cant access WebUI, i have to hard reset through the power button.

After this started happening I have

Updated the bios to the latest

Turned XMP off and on

Reset bios to default

Ran memtest for 4+ hours all passed

Updated LSI card to the latest firmware, was running the old firmware for a long time.

There were no power outages (UPS is connected anyway)

left for 24 hours but still randomly crashes/freezes.

All hardware is only a few months old bought brand new (CPU, MOBO, RAM)

I have attached Diagnostics

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Assuming the syslog-previous covers the crash, there's nothing relevant logged, though there are some device issues with disk2 that should still be fixed. Try replacing its cables.

For the crashing, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.

I seem to have resolved the issue.

The HBA seems to be the problem, it was overheating, i put a 80mm fan on it and it hasnt locked up since. Strange though since it never did that before.
