Self-Signed SSL certificates for Unraid Dockers, like NextCloud, a waste of time?

Featured Replies

Weeks, Days and hours, I have spent working on generating self-signed certificates for my internal only Unraid dockers like NextCloud and others.

I have watched video's about setting up a reverse proxy with Nginx, duckdns, and mkcert. I have installed Openssl and ran the process of creating the files and even imported them into Windows and Chrome. Still get the crossed out https for example for Nextcloud. I even tried Pi-hole for DNS. I tried creating a san.cnf file so I would not need DNS, but work strictly off my Unraid's IP.

Logic stays it should not be this hard to resolve the issue. Does anyone do this with their UnRaid setup and with their dockers. Home LAN only no exposure to the WAN and no remote access.
