Movies freezing up

Featured Replies

I have finally started watching my hd movies from my new unraid box with 4.7 installed. It appears that most movies are freezing up about half way through. I am using xbmc on my Mac mini. If I rewing the frozen movie 30 seconds, it plays right through the previous freeze location.  Prior to unraid I had all my movies served via individual hard drives connected via USB. No movie ever froze with this prior set up. All my movies are mkv files between 4 and 15 gb each. They reside in a configured hd movies folder. How do I correct this. I am a Linux newbie.

Provide a syslog, and a little more info on your setup <wired, share protocol <AFP, SMB, NFS?> and hardware.

Assuming your movies are full-length, the bitrate is average to low for a typical blu-ray movie.

unRAID configured properly can feed at least 3 HD streams to diffferent clients...

what is the split level and folder structure, also what is the spin down delay?

I have the same setup. Which network protocol are you using? I found NFS works best. What does "ifconfig" and "ethtool eth0" output?
