Sabrent nvme to sata enclosure - drives not seen?

Bought 3 of these, stuck some 500gb nvmes in, hooked up, sata to sas cables in my Intel sas splitter, sata powered, drives don't show up anywhere in Unraid - tried wiping / cleaning the drives first in different ways, Unraid still just doesn't see them at all. Have 4x unsealed sata to sas cables and tried two different ones, no cigar.

Are the enclosures the wrong type? Should I return them for a different enclosure?

Motherboard only has two nvme slots and I have about 6 nvmes that I'd like to use (obviously transfer speed won't be max possible but that's irrelevant for the intended use)

Thanks,

Para

Main card is an IBM LSI ServeRaid M1015 (IT Mode flashed) and an Intel RES2SV240NC expander card.

They are for m.2 SATA devices only; they won't work with NVMe devices.

Crap I expected that but they slotted in fine and the pins seemed to line up so I never checked further :( I did think it was weird that they went in "upside down" though. Thanks. Rookie mistake on my part.
