Help installing OwnCloud

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anybody offer me some help installing owncloud on my unRAID running 5.0beta14. I've never really used linux console before so not entirely sure where to start.

Cheers

Charlie

Install my webserver plugin (look for unRAID 5 plugins in the wiki) & simply drag the owncloud files to your web server folder (will be obvious once you set up the plugin).

Cool. Thanks for the help.  ;D

I did all that and owncloud is now running, however i get an error as shown in the attached screen shot

I've tried :-

chown -R root:root /boot/config/plugins/sf_webserver/www/data
chown -R root:root /boot/config/plugins/sf_webserver/www/config

(like it says on the owncloud install webpage) but this hasn't helped at all.

I've also tried :-

chmod 0770 /boot/config/plugins/sf_webserver/www/data
chmod 0770 /boot/config/plugins/sf_webserver/www/config

and this hasn't helped either.

Any pointers to where I'm going wrong??

Cheers

You'll need to shift the www folder to either a cache drive or onto your array. Flash drive doesn't support permissions.

Thanks for that. That got that working. :D

I have now unfortunately another error, which I'm guessing is an owncloud error rather than an unRAID/installation error, but thought i would ask any way.

If i browse to my owncloud with safari and login i can upload files to it. However if i use cyberduck to create a webDAV connection or if i use the owncloud client sync utility, it doesn't work. I can connect to the owncloud and login with any user that i create, but i cannot create any files or folders. Owncloud gives me a "generic" error about server and computer time not in sync, but i have checked this and i have them both set to use the same NTP server and the times are as close to each other a possible. Cyberduck gives me an error "I/O Error, Method not allowed" when i try to create a new folder.

Any suggestions to what it could be??

Thanks for the help

Likely an OwnCloud bug. I've had issues with webDAV as well.

Speeding_ant,

I did what you said and it worked great until I rebooted and the Webserver plugin reinstalled over top of the owncloud. How can I correct this? Delete the Webserver installer package from the /boot/extra? The OwnCloud was nice and looked great from what I saw of it before I realized it overrode it.

Thanks

Greg

Thinking about installing Owncloud myself. Did you get this working through a reboot? Does anyone have more detailed instructions of the installation? This looks quite nice on their demo site.

How do I get past the first setup screen?

What do I enter under username and password?

What do I enter under database username, password, database name?
