Flash drive fix/rebuild question.

Recommended Posts

My flash drive (pro license) started to act up - syslog is reporting super.dat as read-only

Reading the forums it seems like all I have to do is run a check disk on a PC or just format the drive and copy the backed-up config folder to the newly formatted flash drive.

Question: What can go wrong in either scenario and what precautions should I take in this endeavor?

Here are some of my worries: Some of the files on the flash drive might be permanently damaged. Can I reconstruct the array if none of the config files can be reused?

I will post a syslog as soon as I get back from work tonight.

Data will not be effected. Do not assign a data drive as parity!!! Data drives can be assigned in any order.  You only have to make sure that the parity drive is assigned correctly and all of the shares will appear with default settings.
