Shutdown does not power off the system (reboots just fine)

Featured Replies

Hello,

My Unraid system running 7.1.4 will not completely power off (lights on, drives still spinning) when using the shutting down the system from the GUI (have not tried via SSH).

I lose web access and ssh access, but the system remains powered on. Rebooting from the GUI is no problem - it reboots as expected.

As a complicating factor, though I don't think it matters, the cases power button cable is not plugged into the motherboard to prevent accidentally shutdowns from my cat and kids.

Logs attached - I'm hoping someone can help! Appreciate your time <3

Recommend retesting with a new flash drive using a stock install, no key needed, just to check if it's a config issue or a hardware compatibility problem.

Same thing happened for me as well. If you are using UPS with your setup you might want to check this topic too: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/161744-system-not-powering-off-after-shutdown/

I'm still troubleshooting the issue but in my setup I have an UPS so that's where I will start my investigation since it might be the most plausible reason for this happening...

Also, I did not remember having this issue before I upgraded to unraid 7.x 🤔
