August 23, 2025Aug 23 Hi,I wonder if anyone has a tip on how to move forward. I have Unraid set up on a Ugreen NAS DXP4800 and it has been working great for a few months but now it won't recognise any SATA hardware. Is there a software way it could have been disabled? I reset the BIOS and it still isn't listed. I suspect I need to return to factory condition and raise a warranty claim?

August 24, 2025Aug 24 Author I decided to take it apart and have a look. There was no obvious connectivity problem. In fact it's hard to see how the connection could be mechanically disconnected as the card is firmly screwed to the frame . However on reassembly it worked. I checked each disk in turn so perhaps it was a problem with the disk connector. unraid-ugreen-diagnostics-20250824-1643/logs/syslog.txt746:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: ahci 0000:05:00.0: version 3.0747:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: ahci 0000:05:00.0: SSS flag set, parallel bus scan disabled757:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: ahci 0000:05:00.0: AHCI vers 0001.0301, 32 command slots, 6 Gbps, SATA mode758:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: ahci 0000:05:00.0: 4/4 ports implemented (port mask 0xf)759:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: ahci 0000:05:00.0: flags: 64bit ncq sntf stag pm led only pio sxs deso sadm sds apst760:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: scsi host1: ahci762:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: scsi host2: ahci764:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: scsi host3: ahci765:Aug 24 16:34:23 unraid-ugreen kernel: scsi host4: ahciunraid-ugreen-diagnostics-20250824-1643/system/lspci.txt61: Kernel driver in use: ahci62: Kernel modules: ahci
October 7, 2025Oct 7 I'm having the same challenge but am not getting AHCI to display in my syslog.txt file. Any suggestions? mtunraid-diagnostics-20251007-1047.zip Edited October 7, 2025Oct 7 by horkencrew
October 7, 2025Oct 7 No SATA controller is being detected by Linux, this is not a software issue, does the BIOS have an option to enable/disable the controller?
October 8, 2025Oct 8 Issue resolved: Excessive torque on NVMe drive installation screw caused SATA connector displacement. Reinstalled NVME with less screwing in / adjustment to lower tension restored proper connection.
