August 23, 2025Aug 23 I updated the size of my docker vdisk as I was getting install failures when trying to install new docker images. I rebooted the system and whilst dockers were fine I have no vm's anymore. I get a message saying libvert not starting in the vm tab.I tried to start libvert and get this messageroot@Freedom:~# /etc/rc.d/rc.libvirt restartrc.libvirt: Stopping libvirt daemon...rc.libvirt: libvirt daemon... No image mounted at /etc/libvirt.root@Freedom:~# i thought this was a strange message as I cannot understand why docker vdisk is causing this issue.Help much appreciated. freedom-diagnostics-20250823-0937.zip

If you have a libvirt backup, try that; if you don't, rename the current one and see if it starts with a new image.
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Author OK I copied the libvert.img file to a different location and configured vm manager to point to that file. I no longer the the error libvert not started and according to the logs it does start. However I still dont see any vms in the vm tab. freedom-diagnostics-20250824-0914.zip
August 24, 2025Aug 24 Community Expert /dev/loop4 1.0G 6.1M 905M 1% /etc/libvirtIt is started, are you you sure this was the same file? If yes, it may be damaged; you can try recreating the VM and pointing to the existing vdisk.
August 26, 2025Aug 26 Author Thats a pain to have to do this especially as all my vms were setup and have been for ages. Is there an automatic process for backing up libvert?
August 27, 2025Aug 27 Community Expert Solution You just need to copy the file after any new VM is created/changed; for an automated way, the appdata backup plugin also includes that as part of the backup, IIRC.
