September 1, 2025Sep 1 Finding a driver for a generic USB-to-HDMI/DP adapter on Unraid can be difficult because Unraid is a stripped-down Linux operating system.The necessary DisplayLink drivers are not included by default and can be tricky to install without a graphical interface.Can these drivers be optionally added from the UI, so that, at next boot, the DisplayLink drivers are included (and persist)?The correct driver is of course relevant to the specific adapter's chipset, but I'm willing to bet a bunch of us wouldn't mind support for the most common, and those could be ones that are officially supported.The rationale being that many people are either using repurposed hardware, or squashing as much as they can into the smallest case they can get away with, only to find that they didn't leave any room for a GPU, and their repurposed CPU doesn't have graphics (me, basically!)I found enough comments on Reddit to warrant a feature request - I guess you'll decide if that's ever going to be a thing 😉
