Unraid Connect: both servers offline (6.x & 7.x), SSH OK, WebUI 400/404

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m running two Unraid servers: one on 6.x (unchanged for a long time) and a brand-new 7.x box I set up recently. Reliable access to the web UI is mission-critical for me because I’m often away from home.

I strictly followed the Unraid Connect guide (https://connect.myunraid.net/help). I’d reported issues before (https://forums.unraid.net/topic/192734-primary-server-flaps-offlineonline-cant-add-second-server/), but things have now gotten worse:

  • Unraid Connect: both servers show Offline.

  • SSH: ip_address:2222 (port forwarded via router) — works.

  • Web UI (HTTP): http://ip_address:4455400 Bad Request: “The plain HTTP request was sent to HTTPS port. nginx”.

  • Web UI (HTTPS): https://ip_address:4455404 Not Found. nginx.

Both machines are healthy and fully reachable over SSH, but direct web UI access from WAN fails as above.

Could you please advise what to check next or how to restore stable Connect/WebUI access for both servers? My work is currently blocked — any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm having the same issue. I can ping the server and it responds. I can open the network shares. I can play a video file and write files to the network share. I cannot access the Web UI and I can't connect via SSH. Nothing has changed since the last update. I'm afraid it's in the middle of a parity check and I'm hesitant to power cycle it.

The flash drive is somewhat old, I'm wondering if the flash drive finally gave up. Any help would be appreciated.

We are pretty sure this is related to nchan not to Unraid Connect.

Please try running this in SSH console and see if you are able to access the webGUI.

/etc/rc.d/rc.nginx reload

I can't even get putty to connect via SSH. I think it's the flash drive, I just looked at the back of the server and the tiny flash drive, bless it's heart, it's a decade old, is flashing red. I'm assuming that's dead and the only reason Network Shares are still working is because that doesn't require much. I guess it's time to look up how to use the backup and swap that flash drive.
