Types of User shares for movies

Featured Replies

If I leave the default set to High-Water, when I create a user share that I intend to store 4-8GB movie iso files, does this cause playback issues.

Meaning, when I copy over a 4-8GB file to the share,..does it copy the entire file to a single drive,...or will it split the file across drives based on the High-Water algorithm used for determining free drive space allocation?

Should I copy movie files directly to \\tower\disk1\movies ??? or use something other than High-Water for the share?

One file remains always on one disk... The splitlevel only defines which directories have to stay on one disk.

Do a Google search for unRAID wiki unofficial user manual and read the user shares section. Let us know if you still have questions.
