Optical drive missing after upgrade from 7.0.1 to 7.1.4

Featured Replies

I've had my Unraid server for several years now, and for the last couple of years I've had an internal optical drive connected, and passed through to an MakeMKV container with no issues.

I just upgraded to 7.1.4 from 7.0.1 and it seems the OS no longer recognises there is an ODD connected:

  1. Drive powers on, and loads discs fine.

  2. No changes have been physically made to the system recently, just OS.

  3. Running lsscsi -g in a terminal window lists the expected array, cache, and boot thumb drive - but no ODD

When I get a chance to power the system down (not easily done as I run several services that we need in the household) I will check to see if the BIOS sees the drive.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Just as an update, as this is now resolved. After a handful of restarts, I shut the system down and booted into BIOS. Drive appeared there as expected. Exited BIOS and booted into Unraid. This time the drive was visible, and I was able to re-add it to the MakeMKV container through the extra parameters config as normal.

I guess for some reason a full shut down was needed??
