I gots bad drives -- toss 'em or is there a good use for them in the community?

I have pulled several drives from my Unraid build (several 500s, 750, and a few 1tbs) -- I would not trust them in any Unraid build of a production nature.  High replaced sectors, very high (multi-years) power-on, well out of warranty... etc, etc.  They are all SATA.  Some I, some II, none III.

 

At one time I remember seeing a post from one of the more senior Unraid persons looking for such drives for testing issues with Unraid systems and/or other such viable uses.

 

Before I toss 'em in the trash,  I thought I'd ask if there is someone who could get value for the community at large, by getting them.
