Serving RTSP stream

Featured Replies

Morning all! Im looking to see if anyone has a way to serve RTSP stream to unRAID? I have just got into astrophotography and I note my Smart telescope has the ability to produce an RTSP stream. Same goes for my Unifi camera in Unifi Protest; they can live stream as well.

What I would ideally be able to do is to have these streams passed to my unRAID server and then maybe have them output into Plex. Is this possible? Anyone done something similar?

I have Plex on all my Smart TVs so being able to change to say a "TELESCOPE" channel, or a "DRIVEWAY CAMERA" would be ideal. As it stands if I want to see the Unifi camera feed I have to go find a device with the Protect app. Changing a channel on my Smart TV would be great.

Any ideas?

nginx can work with rtsp streams as sample, but wont help you with your project.

background, plex only accepts .ts (dvb) streams for Live TV, so one way could be

1/ choose a proxy like xteve as sample (with vlc buffering as rtsp)

2/ create a m3u with your rtsp links

3/ import this in your proxy, assign a EPG (yes, plex only works with EPG)

4/ then add xteve Live TV to your Plex

like this you could add rtsp streams as live channels into plex
