rcu_preempt self-detected stall on CPU crashes the server

Featured Replies

Hi, I had Unraid running stable, besides some hiccups here and there.

But since a few weeks my server is crashing every few days, so I enabled syslogs (attached below).

It says very frequent and one of the last messages before crashing was a rcu_preempt self-detected stall on CPU part.

Does maybe someone know a way to fix it ? Or is it maybe a sign of a dying CPU/Hardware?

They are most often hardware related, post the complete diags mostly to see the hardware used, you can boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the docker containers.

Someone suggested to do a memory check, so I tried it with Memtest86+ and got around 150 errors. I think I found the culprit
