October 10, 2025Oct 10 Hi I’m trying to figure out whats happening with my setup. My Unraid looks to randomly crashes the webui and can no longer access it via IP or tailscale domain. When this happens, my other docker services like jellyfin etc is still running and can connect to it.Physical logins on the NAS is also failing for some reason and I have to resort to a hard reset for it all to go back to normal. doing so will result me into doing a parity check every time.Btw, I recently swapped the USB boot drive because I thought it was the one causing the issue, I probably get by for a week or two and the issue starts happening again.I also tried going to Unraid Connect and it sees my nas as online but cant connect to it via webui. Can someone point me into the right direction how to troubleshoot this and learn from this if a certain service is causing this.My Unraid is installed on a QNAP 453 NASrunning Unraid OS: 7.1.4 batcave-diagnostics-20251010-1205.zip

October 21, 2025Oct 21 Author syslog-10.84.22.33d.logI've had 2 crashes since I enabled the syslog and looks to me the syslog is not logging when the crash is happening. I have noticed gaps on the date when I rebooted.Look the last log on Oct 15 and Oct 19. after those dates are when I hard rebooted the NAS to access the webgui.I tried manually running the diagnostics command on the terminal but it said command not found.I see crond errors on the monitor screen . Please see attached.I found the same error matched the issue on this post but no luck in resolution. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/155957-occasional-crashing-unreachable-server/
October 22, 2025Oct 22 Community Expert Unfortunately, there's nothing relevant logged, this can also be a hardware issue, one thing you can try is to boot the server in safe mode with all docker containers/VMs disabled, let it run as a basic NAS for a few days, if it still crashes it's likely a hardware problem, if it doesn't start turning on the other services one by one, including the individual docker containers.
October 28, 2025Oct 28 I have EXACTLY the same problem! Everything that goes through the "main" IP address of the server won't connect after a few days, like SSH, the Unraid web UI and all SMB shares. Also all docker containers with bridge network mode (same IP as server) are offline. All other docker containers with an IP address of their own (network mode br0) are running perfectly and their web UI is reachable. So I can rule out a defect of the network card, since all docker containers with their own IP are reachable.I exchanged the USB flash drive yesterday, but today the web UI died on me again, so probably it wasn't the flash drive either. When I press the power button the server shuts down cleanly (I see the shutdown messages on the attached monitor), so the Unraid "core" seems to be still running when the connection problem occurs. After a reboot everything works fine for a few days or even one or two weeks. The server hardware is only about a 8 or 9 month old and ran perfectly for the first half year. The problem appeared roughly two or three month ago, I think some time after I installed 7.1.4. Next thing I'll try is to downgrade to 7.1.2 or another older version...
