October 11, 2025Oct 11 Hi everyone, This is my first post on the forums, so please bear with me if I’m a bit lost when it comes to Unraid, Docker containers, or even forum etiquette. As a new Unraider I’ve been confused but this is the first time I am simply lost (And it seems like this should be a simpler setup). I truly appreciate any help or guidance you’re willing to offer. I’m trying to set up AdGuard Home on Unraid, but I’m running into issues where it doesn’t seem to block anything. Here’s how I’ve set up the AdGuard Home container in Unraid: (Tailscale off until it works)Name: AdGuard-HomeOverview: AdGuard Home is a network-wide software for blocking ads & tracking. Once set up, it covers all your home devices without needing client-side software.Repository: adguard/adguardhomeNetwork Type: Custom: br0Fixed IP Address: 192.168.2.123Subnet: 192.168.2.0/24Use Tailscale: OffPrivileged Mode: OffConsole Shell Command: BashWebUI Port: 3000DNS Server Ports:TCP: 53UDP: 53Volume Mappings:/mnt/user/appdata/adguard/workingdir → /opt/adguardhome/work/mnt/user/appdata/adguard/config → /opt/adguardhome/confContainer Variable: CA_TS_FALLBACK_DIR → /opt/adguardhome/work I’ve configured my router’s DNS to point to 192.168.2.123 (AdGuard’s IP). I also added a backup DNS in case the server goes down, which I read is recommended. Despite reading through documentation and watching several setup videos, I can’t figure out why it’s not working. I’m wondering if it could be something in my Unraid network settings, but I’m not sure. From the Unraid terminal, I can’t ping the AdGuard DNS IP. Also, when I click “Test Upstreams” in AdGuard, it throws an error and fails to connect. Here are the upstream DNS servers I’ve configured in AdGuard (based on recommended settings I found online): https://dns10.quad9.net/dns-query9.9.9.10149.112.112.102620:fe::102620:fe::fe:108.8.8.88.8.4.4 At this point, I’m stuck and would really appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips from anyone kind enough to help. Thanks in advance!
