Moving drive from USB to SATA. Do I just use new config?

Featured Replies

I didn't think this would be an issue so I waited to move everything. I have been using a 24tb HDD as my only drive on unraid. I have additional drives but needed to build a better nas to use them. Today was that day but as soon as I start the server drives are unassigned and when trying to add my main drive it says it will be overwritten on startup. Would I just use new config to keep everything? Do I need to go back to USB and move everything onto Sata drives, readd the main drive and then move it back? Please help an idiot.

If all that changed is the device name, a new config will work, but keep in mind that some USB bridges are not transparent, though this is typically most common with older WD external drives.
