7.1.4: Removing a drive from existing array

Featured Replies

Hi, new user here. I have a 16tb drive in my array that has been drained by unbalancer and I would like to remove it and re-add it as a parity drive, if i use New Config will this have a destructive effect on the data on the remaining 4 drives of the array? Is there a set of instructions for this scenario?

Thanks

Edit - Found the process - https://forums.unraid.net/topic/121471-cam-i-shrink-an-array-with-no-parity/ i was missing the word 'shrink'

Removing disk is covered here in the online documentation.

The New Config tool is covered here. Note in particular that New Config does not touch the existing data on drives - it just rebuilds parity to match the new drive set.
