May 16, 200818 yr Author IRC client? just curious: why? To idle a channel for points on a torrent tracker .
May 16, 200818 yr Author Can anyone point me in the right direction to achieving this? And how does one install SSH?
May 16, 200818 yr Here's a text irc client I've used in the past. http://packages.slackware.it/package.php?q=current/bitchx-1.1-i486-5 You might want to install screen too so you can detach from the screen. http://packages.slackware.it/package.php?q=current/screen-4.0.3-i486-1 Haven;t found a slackware build for BNC, but one might exist. As far as openssh, you need to install both of these. http://packages.slackware.it/package.php?q=current/openssl-solibs-0.9.8g-i486-1 http://packages.slackware.it/package.php?q=current/openssh-5.0p1-i486-1 You will need to synchronize changes to/from the config files or alter them to point to a permanent place on your flash drive. The command is installpkg (packagename) Store your packages on /boot in /boot/custom/usr/share/packages which can be created with mkdir -p /boot/custom/usr/share/packages
May 17, 200818 yr On the topic of add-on software. I was wondering ... Is there a package that will allow playing of MP3s through the unRAID server? I have a whole-house audio system, and need to have a Windows box right next to my unRAID box to play MP3s and pipe it through the house. I wrote a program that controls WinAmp and randomizes the music in particular ways. I would be willing to try and port to Linux if I had something that would do the playing part. Thanks for any suggestions!
May 17, 200818 yr psyBNC is the BNC of choice. I find it amazingly cryptic due to the documentation and there seems to be no slack package easily available (unless i am missing something im a debian man) but once working its the one you want.
