Mail and ssmtp configuration problems!!!

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone,

I'm having some issues receiving email notifications from my new unRAID server.  I keep getting the following message: "550 .5.7.1 Sender rejected: [email protected] is not a valid from address"

Attached you can find screenshots of my mail and ssmtp configuration and of the PuTTY session.

Any ideas?  Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance. :) :) :)

After changing the RevAliases field, did you re-install on reboot and then reboot?  I'm guessing it is not in effect.  It still thinks you are trying to send as "root"

Thanks for the fast reply.

I did re-install on reboot and then reboot but it still shows the sender as [email protected].

Type

cat /usr/local/etc/ssmtp/revaliases.conf

and see if it exists... (and has the expected contents)

I'm thinking it might not be as expected, but who knows...

Thanks for the help.

Problem was solved using my gmail address.  I guess Etisalat in Dubai doesn't accept emails from "root".
