October 25, 2025Oct 25 From the Main page, I needed to reboot Unraid to change VFIO passthrough for a VM.I selected Reboot after stopping VMs and Dockers. It started the process and the Array seemed to stop in a minute or so. Now I have this screen that has gone on for 10 minutes. The T440 fan has increased to maximum speed. Reboot - T440Array StoppedSystem is rebooting 612Is something going on? I supposed I'll have to use IDRAC to power cycle it, but I'd prefer to have reboot from Unraid work as expected.
October 25, 2025Oct 25 Community Expert Look at the display output to see what the system is stuck on.Also you often have to manually reload the page but if your fans are spinning fast it's likely unrelated and the system is stuck on POST before even starting to boot the OS. October 26, 2025Oct 26 Author Here's a detailed log of what happens when I reboot Unraid from the GUI. Note I stop all Docker, VMs, and the array before initializing the reboot. October 27, 2025Oct 27 Community Expert That looks more like an issue with the server, you can rule out a config problem by booting a different Unraid flash drive using a stock install, no key needed, then see if the behavior is the same.
October 27, 2025Oct 27 Author So you're saying get another flash drive, install Unraid on it, and boot, and then try the Reboot from the GUI.If it hangs for 10+ minutes, then it's something about the server? If I can know Unraid is shutting down OK first, it's not a big deal to do the warm boot from in IDRAC.I don't have to do it that often.Next time I need to reboot, I'll video the Unraid console monitor as it rapidly scrolls text then immediately blacks out. Maybe I can see the "last message" of Unraid is that it has completed shutdown. Edited October 27, 2025Oct 27 by timg11
