October 30, 2025Oct 30 After suspending my Synology and playing around with Unraid for quite some time now, I finally want to rearrange the folder structure to make use of *arr apps, automated moves and hardlinks. In the past I used to have different shares for each file type (allowing granular permissions) and subfolders in them for further differentiation, looking something like this:BooksCookingFictionNon-FictionReferenceTravelDataBackupsDocumentsSoftwareMoviesAnimationForeignLocalOwn ProjectsSportsMusicAudiobooksClassicElectronicFreestyleHip-HopJazzPopSoundtracksMaybe I am overthinking it, but I struggle to get this worked out referring to the Trash-Guides. Since, correct me if I am wrong, a structure like the following would prevent automated downloads and moves:LibraryTorrentsAdultBooksCookingFictionNon-FictionReferenceTravelMoviesAnimationForeignLocalOwn ProjectsSportsMusicAudiobooksClassicElectronicFreestyleHip-HopJazzPopSoundtracksTVUsenetIncompleteCompleteAdultBooks...Movies...Music...TVMediaAdultBooks...Movies...Music...TVPrivateBackupsDocumentsPhotosSoftwareIs there a way to achieve a folder structure with subfolder for books types, movie categories and music genres, or is my thinking just outdated and a better solution is available? Many thanks upfront!
