Server has been very slow and unresponsive for a while now, shutting down when I try to access it too much

Hello,

I started my unraid server in 2023. I am going on about 2 years now. I use all Windows PCs or laptops, so I access it through SMB. I feel I have done everything right, however, file read speed is very slow at times. Sometimes, if I want to open up a large file, it takes minutes to load, if it ever does. And then there are other cases where I will be accessing it frequently -- whether that's read, writes, or reorganizing files -- and it just goes offline. The server shows as unreachable through Windows Explorer and the terminal is unreachable through the IP address in the browser. This has happened enough times, but when it does, the diagnostics are wiped before I have a chance. I tried enabling the write diagnostics to flash but it doesn't appear to be there. The server is also just unreasonably slow at times, and while I understand SMB ain't great, I also get slow speeds when transferring directly within something like DoubleCommander. I just see people talk about how nice their UNRAID server is and I know that there is something I'm not getting.

I have attached my diagnostics. In these diagnostics, I have a very large amount of reads from the flash drive. About 1,000,000 in an hour and a half. I know this is abnormal and is likely caused by the issue listed in the help documentation, where the OS is being pushed to being read from the flash drive. I know how to fix that, however, I figure now is as good as a time as any to finally maybe see if there is something else going on under the hood.

In my experience, these errors can be the result of the server being close to exhausting the memory, GUI can become extremely slow, like 1 minute to open the dashboard, try limiting the memory for VMs/docker services, or adding a little more RAM.

It could also be one or more containers hogging the CPU, try pinning only some cores to them, and leave cores 0/1 available for Unraid.

Also, recommend trying a couple of other things, go to Settings - Global share settings and set the Number of fuse File Descriptors to the max, and enable this:
