November 6, 2025Nov 6 SUBJECT: How to mount drive from QNAP without losing dataHi everyone,I'm trying to access the data from 2 HDD that where in a QNAP TS-230Did some research, but didn't found help on this subject. Those 2 drives contain some data that I would like to save, so I'm a bit scare to do my standard "try & error" method by myself.I'm not very familiar with what the syslog error push me. (systemlog attach)Seems to have a challenging mounting, cause of the system partition from QNAP (see image)Anyone can guide me with this challenge? Thanks in advance! syslog.txt
November 7, 2025Nov 7 Community Expert Solution Unraid cannot mount md raid pools, since the standard Linux md raid driver doesn't exist, if you still have the QNAP connect the disks there and transfer the data via SMB, if not, a possible option would be to use a Linux VM in Unraid to mount them.
November 7, 2025Nov 7 Author Thanks for the answer JorgeBFound this video on how to mount drive via Linux VM, but I do not feel too confient about the fact I can loss the data if something goes wrong - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7JID97EMeAMight be safer for me to try to restart the QNAP Server and transfert data via SMB.After that, I could safely wipe the 2 QNAP drive, to make them usable in my Unraid server.
