November 7, 2025Nov 7 Hello, happy Unraider here. I have Unraid 7 running on an old tower that I've had for years. I also have an old Synology device that I've been lazy about retiring. I'd like to consolidate the two onto my new UGreen DXP2800 device. A couple of questions though...My server has 3 12TB drives in it. 2 for data, one for parity. I don't even have 12TB of data total at present, and not sure that I ever will have it. What I'd like to do is use these drives in my DXP2800 - one drive for data, the other for parity... then I'd just hang on to the third drive for a backup.I've read about the 'unbalance' plugin to copy all data to one drive, which I could theoretically then take that one drive and the parity drive out, and into the new machine... no? It certainly seems possible. I have both devices running now on my network, my server with a paid license and the DXP2800 with a trial at the moment. Is it possible to 'transfer' my license to the DXP2800 once I'm finished with this operation?I searched around a bit and didn't find any straight forward answers to my situation here, if there's a post already outlining something like this I'd welcome the pointer. Thanks!

Transfer disks plus licensed boot USB to new system and boot up. It should all just work.OrTransfer disks plus licensed boot USB to new system and boot up. It should all just work.
