[SOLVED] After Update to 7.2.0 - NVME Size Zero - Tied to binding of NVidia card

Hello all!

I am new to Unraid, technically still in my trail period but already pulled the trigger on a license, so that new.

I was on 7.1.4 I believe and had everything working mostly properly. I had my Nvidia card bound to VFIO on boot to use in my VM (This part not 100% working) but all drive in m array were good, and had a pool mirror drive of 2 NVME drives. All working great.

I updated to 7.2.0 yesterday and upon reboot, 1 of my NVME drives was showing under unassigned. When trying to throw it back into my mirror pool, it was not an option to add. Logs for that drive showed device had size zero.

While farting around, I removed the bind on my Nvidia card, rebooted and my NVME was back where it should be. Thinking this was a fluke, I re-bound Nvidia, rebooted and the drive was back to being unusable. No issues with my main array, only this 1 NVME drive. Another thing I noticed under System Devices, this NVME drive is grayed out and unusable as an option to bind in VFIO. But when Nvidia is bound, this drive is not grayed out and is now an option to bind in VFIO.

1 more thing I tried was moving my NVME to another slot on the motherboard. Didn't make a difference at all.

So. I can get my mirror pool online so long as I do not bind my Nvidia card which sucks because eventually I want to pass through this video card to use in my VM if I ever figure out how to get that piece working too.

Any ideas guys? Is this a bug in the new version?

Thanks!

**Update**

Managed to fix this myself and wanted to log my solution in case it helps someone else out in the future.

I did 2 things at once so unsure which actually resolved this.

I ended up removing my video card, and also updating my BIOS. I did load unraid without my video card attached a few times. Then I updated my BIOS. Afterwards I reinstalled my video card, booted into unraid and my drive was fine as well as my video card bindings. Everything is fine now. FYI for anyone that runs into this down the road!

Double check bios configurations.

the first slot near the x16 g card and processors is usually on its own pcie lane direct to the processor.

where the second slot is dependant on pcie lanes and what is pluged in where.
