I'm trying to record some examples of the boot process to try and diagnose some odd messages.

Trouble is my screen jumps to a VERY high resolution and I can barely read it.

It starts out fine:

But then switches to:

I don't even have the words to search for an answer to this.

I am not sure if you can change the resolution, but you can blacklist the GPU driver to keep the VGA resolution all the way through.
