Yet another parity question

Featured Replies

Could not find the specific answer to my question. But i would like to get, yet again back to a parity drive. But the problem i had, due to the live writing to my parity disk 24/7 if i copied or moved something, the system eventually crashed / frozen after some days. So hence the reason i removed parity, and now unraid is running more stable then ever.

Now my question is, is it also possible to have a parity disk, but NOT let it update the parity disk realtime, but lets say onlu once a month or how i want same as you would do a read check.

mhm oke, not what i hoped to hear, but tnx for the reaction )

what can those crashes come from then?

Just having parity should never crash the server, possibly some issue that gets more visible with increased load.

could a ZFS filesystem have been the problem?

By itself, it should also not be an issue.

Enable the remote syslog server and post diagnostics next time it happens

you might have to ssh in and run the command from terminal diagnostics if you cant access the webgui.
